Criminal Justice Adjunct Professor and Internship Supervisor RP Smith received the Correctional Education Association (CEA) Director’s Award.

 

Criminal Justice Adjunct Professor and Internship Supervisor RP Smith received the Correctional Education Association (CEA) Director’s Award for 25+ years of outstanding service in support of correctional educators in Region I which includes the New England and Middle Atlantic states, and Eastern Provinces of Canada.

CEA is the largest organization in North America supporting teachers, counselors, principals, school psychologists and vocational instructors who work in schools which are located within correctional facilities. Smith retired in 2013 after 20 years with the State of Connecticut/Department of Correction School District #1 and continues to serve as CEA Region I’s Co-chair for the Membership and Elections Committees.

The Springfield College Department of Criminal Justice recently welcomed a special guest on the campus, Special Agent Karen Leck from the FBI/Boston Field Office. She was visiting the Law Enforcement class for the purpose to guide students through the process of applying for a paid internship at the FBI.
