Youth in Motion was designed to facilitate leadership development and exploration of careers in health, physical education, physical activity, and sport, for high school sophomores and juniors. In addition, the program provides professional development opportunities for high school physical educators, health educators, and school counselors.

They were putting in extra work as part of a class assignment for OCTH 530 Occupation and Technology.
The course was designed by Occupational Therapy Professor Lori Vaughn, but was being taught this semester by professor Kathy Post, with Vaughn on sabbatical.
"The students were having so much fun, and this was happening when most people had gone home for a long holiday weekend," said Post. "I was really impressed that they went into the closet, and pulled out tools that had never been used. They were working on building an adapted clasp for a necklace that will assist someone with fine motor challenges. I couldn’t get the students to leave the Maker Space, it works!"
