About Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
If you need an item that the library does not own or have access to, we will borrow a copy for you from another library or (sometimes) purchase it ourselves.
Articles you request will be electronically delivered to your interlibrary loan account. You will receive an email when they are available for download.
Books and videos you request will be delivered to the library Information Desk. You will receive an email when they are available for pickup. Return items to the library Information Desk.
Renewals may be requested up to 5 days prior to the due date. To request a renewal, contact the ILL office at email@example.com. When a renewal is requested, a temporary due date will be assigned, but final approval is at the discretion of the lending library.
Note that we can not request course textbooks.
We strongly recommend enabling email notifications so you will know when to pick up your item at the library or when an article is delivered to you in your Interlibrary Loan account. We cannot send an article to you via SMS (text message).
Regional and Online Program Students, Faculty and Staff
Students, faculty and staff in Distance Campus or Online programs will have items delivered to their address.
We will ship the requested items to you via UPS 2nd Day Air.
A prepaid UPS return label will be provided with the item(s).
To return borrowed items, wrap them securely, affix the return label to the top of the package, and drop it off at your nearest UPS location.
You may also request items owned by Springfield College using interlibrary loan.
Interlibrary loan is not available to guests. Only current Springfield College students, faculty, and staff may use this service. Please see our Guest Access page for information about document delivery services available through the Massachusetts Library System.
