What I love about Springfield College:
I love Springfield College because there is a real sense of community here. Everyone works together to ensure student happiness and success. Our students don't just learn in the traditional sense of the word here. They learn as a result of constant contact with faculty and staff. They learn to be leaders among their peers and in their communities. I love being a part of that process.

My favorite vacation spot:
Anywhere a camp fire and ocean breeze can be found.

My favorite season:
Autumn in New England is the best. You know it is a good day when flip flops and a sweater can be worn simultaneously.

Something you may not know about me:
I love fine and performing arts. I have an undergraduate degree in art therapy and I began my Springfield College career as a dance major.

Favorite college memory:
It is impossible to pick a favorite but one that sticks out is being on Abbey Green as a senior during New Student Orientation. Those of you who know what I’m talking about will understand; those of you who don’t, I hope you will after attending NSO.

What I love about Springfield College:
To begin with, everything. I love the energy that surrounds this campus. When you first arrive, you might not be able to place your finger on what it is but you know something makes this place special; it is the people here and the history of this institution that gives it that energy and special feeling.

Favorite Quote:
“Life moves by pretty fast, and if you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” - Ferris Bueller

Advice for college-bound students:
At any school, go into your first year with an open mind, try to experience everything that interests you, and get involved as much as you can on campus.

Nikki is a Springfield College Class of 2012 graduate. She works with students from Connecticut, except for Hartford County, Waterbury, Bridgeport, and New Haven.

Favorite college memory:
My favorite college memory has to be all of the opportunities that I had to be involved in different clubs and organizations on campus. Through being involved in a number of activities, I made so many great friendships that will last for my lifetime.  I was also able to enhance my leadership and professional skills by serving on executive boards for a few different clubs and organizations.

What I love about Springfield College:
I love the community feel that you get when you step onto our campus. Springfield is a unique institution in that students really have a voice on our campus. Students, faculty, and staff work hand in hand to make Springfield College such an amazing institution.

Favorite Quote:
“Feed your passion.” - Unknown

When I’m not at work, I can be found:

What is your favorite season?

I absolutely love autumn! I love the changing colors of the leaves and apple picking. Western Massachusetts is one of the most beautiful places to enjoy the fall.

How has Springfield College improved your life?

Daily life can seem hectic and chaotic. It seems I am always running form one meeting to the next. One of the things I most enjoy about Springfield College is the Humanics philosophy, which emphasizes caring for the spirit, mind, and body. Maintaining such a busy schedule, it can be easy to neglect taking time for oneself. The Humanics philosophy reminds me of the importance of self-care and personal reflection.
